The Black Diamond HiLight Tent is built for the minimalist, and features a breathable NanoShield fabric canopy and a SilNylon floor.
Weighing in at a superlight 2 pounds 13 ounces. Tent body pack size is only 6 inches by 9 inches. Poles pack down to only 15.5 inches by 2.5 inches. The tent body and poles come in two separate stuff bags so the tent weight can easily be split between two people.
The free standing design makes setup fast and easy. 2 DAC featherweight poles set from the inside of the tent so you can get out of the weather even quicker. A half pole across the top gives twice the structural strength over a basic cross-pole design, giving you shelter from full-on mountain conditions.
Steep walls and a wide ceiling create a generous living space, while the lean floor plan allows you to pitch it on couch size ledges. The mesh/fabric side-opening door is covered by a wide awning, promoting cross-ventilation and increasing structural integrity. The HiLight is equally at home on hot desert or cool alpine trips.
Large enough to fit 2 people, or make a spacious 1 person lounge. Perfectly suited for those looking for an ultralightweight and packable tent.

NanoShield Fabric: Superlight tent canopies and bivys are constructed entirely from NanoShield – Black Diamond’s new proprietary breathable single-layer fabric. NanoShield is extremely water resistant: it has the highest water column rating of any breathable single-layer, single-wall fabric at 1700 mm. Such an outstanding rating is the result of BD's exclusive Silicone Nanocell coating. This coating has a much lower volume than typical water-resistant coating, allowing the fabric to remain superlight, soft and package. Despite its thin profile, Silicone Nanocell is highly durable with impressive tear strength, making it perfect for high winds and abrasion resistance when guying-out to nearby rocks, ice or trees. It loses nothing in breathability to less-weatherproof fabrics, boasting a Moisture Vapor Transmission Rate (MVTR) of 4300.
DAC Poles: DAC Featherlite tent poles work to inherently improve a tent’s strength-to-weight ratio while providing the least chance of breakage because there are no glued inserts. Their sleeved and structurally sound connecting pole sections eliminate their weakest link, glued pole inserts, reducing weight by 15 % over other commonly-used aluminum poles.
