The new redesigned Black Diamond Ion is a great ultralight headlamp. It is small enough to stash just about anywhere, plus the reflector-housed, 1/2 watt LED casts a far-reaching beam for finding your way.

The Ion has a pivoting head that angles the light anywhere you need it, and a replaceable 6-volt battery provides power for 15 hours at the low setting and 3 hours on high. The Ion is unnoticeable in size and weight, but don’t let its diminutive size fool you—this two-setting headlamp is tough and durable, able to withstand apocalyptic levels rain and sleet.

Slim half-inch elastic headband adjusts with a slider to fit over a different size heads, hats or climbing helmets. A switch on the underside of the light toggles between On and Off.

If properly dried, this wetness will not affect the lamp. DO NOT STORE YOUR LAMP WET: remove battery cover, batteries, focus ring and reflector; and allow the housings to air dry thoroughly.
