The Lighthouse is a lighter, more breathable version of the famed Bibler Eldorado. Built for the minimalist the Lighthouse features a breathable Epic fabric canopy and a SilNylon floor. Weighing in at a superlight 3 pounds 3 ounces. Pack size is only 6 inches by 12 inches. The tent body and poles come in two separate stuff bags so the tent weight can easily be split between two people. The free standing design makes setup fast and easy. 2 DAC featherweight poles set from the inside of the tent so you can get out of the weather even quicker. The Lighthouse is equally at home on hot desert or cool alpine trips. It boasts a full side-door opening with screen netting, a roof that tops out at 43 inches and a small back window for ventilation. Light, Quiet, Compact and a Pleasure to Use November 14, 2005 Reviewer: Michael (GearZone.com Tester) from Utah, United States   The Lighthouse is lighter and more compact than comparable tents. It sets-up easy and fast. The tent breathes really well and kept out the rain. The large side door made for great ventilation and outdoor viewing when the weather was good. As a tent it is great for two backpackers. What I really like is the small lightweight package it becomes when stuffed into the two bags that it goes into. The tent body goes into one stuff sack and the poles go into the other sack. The single wall tents help me to get a better night sleep. With a double wall tent, the wind can get it flapping in strong winds which can seem like a machine gun next to you at night when the wind really gets whipping. With single wall tents that are taught, there is very little noise. I highly recommend this tent for lightweight backpacking. I also think that this tent would good for three-season mountaineering on most mountains. Was this review helpful to you?
