The Montbell Flatiron Parka is a highly functional synthetic climbing parka with a 100-wash rated DWR, while balancing durability and lightweight compressibility.
Montbell utilize their proprietary Exceloft insulation to meet the unique demands of those uncomfortable wet conditions that accompany most winter belays. An extra layer of 30-denier nylon has been installed in the interior to combat single quilt “cold spots” that occur along traditional sewing lines.
The DWR treated flat surface coil zipper repels water and snow allowing us Montbell to eliminate a storm flap and save some weight. While the 2-way slider on the main zipper makes dealing with harness or hip belt a breeze. Simple lines and well thought out features yield a parka engineered to please in just about any mountain setting: town, trail, or route.
