Description   The ultralight Salomon Speedcross 2 shoes work great for off-road running, adventure racing and hiking, especially in the mud and snow. Upper fabric resists water and debris, yet breathes significantly better than waterproof shoes. Multi-directional lugs and sticky rubber soles provide superior traction on mud, wet grass and snow. Reinforced toe caps and overlays resist abrasion. Salomon Cushioning System (SCS) reduces heel strike impact, controlling pronation and providing a dynamic, efficient push-off. Patented Quickfit™ one-pull lacing system ensures a secure and customized fit. Lacing system is easy-on and easy-off. Lace pockets store Quickfit locking mechanism and excess Kevlar laces safely out of the way. Ortholite™ footbeds provides step in comfort and enhanced durability by using a combination of special PU and rubber crumbs. Ortholite™ footbeds use an anti-microbial treatment for reducing odor. The Speedcross 2 also makes a great everyday winter shoe. Awards Outside Magazine 2008 Gear of the Year: "1. Most shoes are either racers or trainers. The lightweight SpeedCross 2 manages to be both: Shock-absorbing rubber outsole lugs compensate for the minimal midsole cushioning.
