Great Paddling & Hot Weather Shoe |

These are great shoes for kayaking, rafting, any time you need to be in and out of water and they make great everyday shoes in hot conditions. The large mesh panels drain water super fast and make the shoes feel very airy. The heel adjustment allowed me to use the Tech Amphibian with no socks or 2mm Neoprene socks. This adds a lot of versatility.
Walking and hiking in the Tech Amphibian is very comfortable. They don’t have enough arch support to make good running shoes. I have heard of people adding stiffer insoles into them and using them for running, but I haven’t tried it. The one pull lacing is great. One pull and the laces are tight and don’t come undone. The lace locking mechanism has its own little pocket. The soles gave me good tracking on both dry and most wet surfaces. Wet slimly rocks were still slippery though. I don’t think they have invented a sole that works on that yet.
I would highly recommend the Salomon Tech Amphibian for paddling, river running and activities where you’re in and out of the water frequently. Also a great summer everyday shoe.
