Accurate Altimeter and Compass |

I purchased my Suunto Vector in late 2000. It is still working reliable today. I have use the Vector to in multiple mountaineering, backpacking, mountain biking and adventure racing trips. The altimeter proved to be accurate all the way to the top of Mount Orizaba in Mexico (over 18,000 ft.). And when calibrated at known points the Vector’s altimeter was accurate during adventure racing.
The compass is easy to use and fairly accurate after calibration. It proved to be reliably waterproof in both rivers, lakes and hot tubs. Just don’t push the buttons while submersed. Adjusting all the different settings takes the instruction book to do. The newer Suunto X6 and similar Suunto watches have an easier menu, but cost considerably more than the Vector.
