The North Face Base Camp Duffel is the classic bomber expedition duffel bag. Whether you're going to Tahoe or headed to Everest, the Base Camp Duffel is up to the challenge.

Alpine cut shoulder straps allow you to comfortable carry the Base Camp Duffel as a backpack. Highly durable PVC Tarpaulin fabric and double stitched construction with bartack reinforcements withstand harsh use season after season.

D-shaped zipper gives access to the entire bag contents. Daisy chains along the sides make it easy to tie down to your roof rack or yak. Four compression straps secure the contents when your bag isn't totally full. ID pocket on top makes it easy to identify your duffel.

I used The North Face Base Camp Duffel to haul gear to Mt. Orizaba in Mexico. Just to get to the base of the mountain my gear had to fly on a plane, tax through Vera Cruz, take multiple buses through remote Mexico and take a wild dusty 4x4 ride to base camp. In my TNF Base Camp Duffle I had a lot of sharp equipment but it didn’t punch any holes in the bag. I took another lesser duffle bag and put four holes in it.

The shoulder straps are really great for traveling. It was much easier for me to carry the Base Camp Duffle around like a backpack than carry it by its handles. The compression straps really help take the stress off the zipper and material when you over stuff the bag like I did when traveling. The mesh pocket on the underside of the top flap is nice for separating out important small items.

If you need a duffel bag to haul climbing gear or travel around the country or globe, you won’t find a better duffel bag than the Base Camp Duffel.
