- Kong Scarab Helmet Review
I’ve tried on most of the climbing and multi-sport helmets on the market, and none of them are more comfortable than the Scarab.
The Kong Scarab has an easy to use tightening system that allows one hand adjustment. It holds very well in all the conditions I’ve been in with one exception, river boarding. River boarding down class 4 to 5 rapids a big wave to the head would loosen the diameter adjustment. So I wouldn’t recommend it for river boarding. But I would recommend it for almost any other activity. This helmet rocks!
Head coverage on the Scarab is a little better than most. Ventilation is good and keeps you comfortable. The chin strap has a soft micro-fleece tube type cover that really does increase comfort.
There are four headlamp strap clips, two on front, two on back, that make attaching a headlamp a breeze. If I am going climbing or adventure racing, I grab the Kong Scarab to protect my knoggin.

I look kind of weird though, but it is extremely confortable and secure. And of course, it size and weigh makes it a "must have" helmet. My friends say that I look like a miner, but who gives a #%&!. It is totally worthy.
